Open House! August 31, 2018

On Friday August 31st, 2018 we held our welcome to kindergarten open house. If your family wasn't able to attend the open house here are some of the fun centers we explored! 

Focus: Early Literacy

Focus: Early Numeracy
-Count to 10 forwards and backwards
-Show, describe and compare quantities of things up to 10
-Sort objects based on a single attribute
-Recognize groups of 1–5 objects arranged in a familiar way
-Connect numbers to everyday life

 Focus: Shape & Space
-Shows awareness of measurement use 
-Explore the properties of simple shapes and real-world objects 
-Sort, classify and build real-world objects

 Focus: Citizenship & Identity
-I am Unique
-I Belong
Inspired by the story "Beekle" we created imaginary friends!

-Become aware of various forms of expression

 Focus: Environment & Community Awareness
-Become aware of materials in the environment and how they are used
-Show curiosity and willingness to learn about the environment and community.
