Eye Exams:
I wanted to share this information with you. If you are needing to book an eye exam for your child (Free in AB) please look at this website. It is specifically for Kinder children: Eye See . . . Eye Learn is a program for kindergarten-aged children. Any child who has a comprehensive eye exam by a doctor of optometry and requires eye glasses will be provided with a free pair. No forms are necessary, just book an appointment with your optometrist and tell them you would like to take part in Eye See . . . Eye Learn.
Literacy:
This week we learned about the letters H, I, J and K. Each day students shared items brought from home that match the letter of the day. Students learned the sounds of the letters and practiced printing the letter (upper and lowercase). We ask that your child bring a matching item for the letter of the day. A new letter will not be covered on Fridays and the letters will go in order.

Merry Fitness:
For the month of December we will be exploring healthy habits (ex: exercise, food, choices etc.) We would love it if you could email, tweet or send in a picture of your child/family engaging in healthy habits (ex: hockey, dance class, dog walking, food prep etc.) Students will share these pictures and we will create a class display to document our inquiry.

Math:
This week we talked about counting and related it to the number of feet animals have. We designed a Foot Parade where we counted 10 feet in our parade. We started with this video to encourage a positive attitude towards math and learning about how our brain grows and changes when we build new pathways.
