Kinders had a great week!
Gym (Mission Impossible)
Gymnastics was in full swing this week! We completed an obstacle course and worked on turn taking, balance, climbing, core strength and safety.
Art (AM Kinders)
While visiting Fish Creek Park last week we took pictures of nature (eg: birds, trees etc). This week we sketched and painted these pictures! This creative work will be on display at conferences!
Fish Creek Park Field Trip (PM Kinder)
Thank you again to our volunteers who made this trip possible! We learned about animals in winter and practiced taking photos and sketching.

Each day we continue to work on our Superhero journals. We are learning to sound out high frequency sight words (eg: He/she, can, and) and reread our work. We are learning to spell words and often rely on our knowledge gained through personalized word card rings. Please continue to send word/alphabet cards each day so your child can practice at school.
Library Books
This week library reminder notices (overdue) were sent home. Please return library books ASAP so your child can take out another book.
Math
We are working on identifying shapes and their characteristics. This week we played a game where we created a riddle to identify a shape (eg: This shape has 4 sides and 4 points, what shape is it? Square). Ask your child to share a shape riddle with you.
Conferences
The link for student led conferences was sent out this week. Please ensure to register so your child can share their learning with you.
***As the weather improves we will be going outside more frequently. Each day please ensure your child is dressed appropriately (snow pants, mittens, boots).
